Someone sent me a short video a few days ago about a man who had a Neuralink device implanted in his brain. The person in the video presented it as urgent and highly significant, especially in relation to Bible prophecy.
These were his words:
“I’m going to need you to save, download, repost, and share this video right now! The mark of the beast is here, and I have proof! According to the Hebrew alphabet, each print of the Hebrew letter has a specific value, and this, (pointing to what’s known as the VAV) has the value of six—the number of the beast is 666.”
The video then quoted Elon Musk as saying,“Neuralink will do life-changing good for ultimately millions, maybe billions of people.” It also claimed that on December 1, 2025, he posted that Neuralink would begin high-volume production of brain-computer interface devices and move toward a streamlined, almost entirely automated surgical procedure in 2026.
The video went on to describe a recent technology event in Las Vegas where Neuralink representatives were present. It featured an interview with a man who had received a Neuralink implant. After showing the surgical scar, the speaker alleged that its shape resembled the Hebrew letter VAV and connected it to the mark of the beast. He ended with these words:“ Brothers and sisters in Christ—suit up; it’s time for war.”
There is much that could be said about this, but let me begin here: yes, the mark of the beast will be a reality. However, before allowing a video to stir fear or confusion, we need to think carefully and handle Scripture responsibly.
The Body of Christ does not need to “suit up” in the sense the video seemed to suggest. Are we called to be spiritually prepared? Absolutely. We are to put on the armor of God and stand firm against the daily spiritual attacks of Satan. But we are also called to keep “looking up” for the imminent return of our Lord.
The tribulation will not occur until after the Rapture of the church, and the mark of the beast will not be mandated until the middle of the tribulation.
End-time prophecy is not designed to scare us; it is designed to prepare us. Personally speaking, I am not preparing for the antichrist, the false prophet, or the mark of the beast. But more importantly, I am preparing for Christ’s return for His church, because this is our blessed hope.
Titus 2:11–13 tells us, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” [NASB]
Please listen closely: I fully believe these are the last days, and we need to be aware of what is happening around us. At the same time, John gives us wise and necessary instruction:
1 John 4:1 says, “Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.” [NLT]
Chuck Swindoll expressed the same principle this way: “Stop believing everything you hear! Quit being so gullible. Be selective. Think!” He went on to say that a lack of discernment can open the door to serious error, and that one of our defenses against deception is to keep the belt of truth firmly fastened around us. That is a timely reminder.
We are living in perilous times, but this is not the time to panic or misread what Scripture clearly teaches. Instead, we should take a deep breath, test what we hear, and refuse to add to or force meanings into what God has already given us. In the meantime, we can come into agreement with John’s final words: “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” [Revelation 22:20 — NKJV]
